Organisational Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Design and Production Section, Production and Support Service, Division of Conference Management, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, Geneva. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Section.
Under the supervision of the Chief of Section and within delegated authority, the Publishing Officer, Design will be responsible for the following duties:
Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of digital multimedia publications and projects; monitors and analyzes the publications' development and implementation; reviews relevant documents and reports; identifies problems and issues to be addressed and proposes corrective actions; liaises with relevant parties; identifies and tracks follow-up actions.
Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
Assists in policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of impact evaluation or equivalent studies, etc.
Supervises the preparations of various outputs, e.g. storyboards, concept proposals, draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.
Ensures effective utilization, supervision and development of staff; guides, evaluates and mentors staff.
Performs consulting assignments, in collaboration with the client, by planning facilitating workshops, through other interactive sessions and assisting in developing the action plan the client will use to manage the change.
Undertakes survey initiatives; reviews, analyzes and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares conclusions.
Prepares outreach and educational material support to substantive secretariats for meetings, conferences, etc., to include proposing the suite of promotional material, preparation of documents, videos, tablet publications and applications, presentations, etc. to build global audience reach and engagement across a range of digital platforms for interactive publications
Ensures UN brand fidelity across all digital materials.
Manages outreach activities; conducts training workshops, seminars, etc.; makes presentations on assigned topics/activities.
Coordinates activities related to budget and funding (programme/project preparation and submissions, progress reports, financial statements, etc.) and prepares related documents/reports (pledging, work programme, programme budget, etc.).
Performs other duties as required.
