The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics is looking for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to provide services for its Neuroscience Laboratory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will work on a project for the development of gene therapy for inherited neuropathies. The project includes generation of experimental in vivo models and testing of viral vector-mediated gene editing and neuroprotective gene therapy approaches. A variety of techniques, including molecular, biochemical, morphological behavioural and electrophysiological analysis will be used.
The position is for a period of 12 months with a possibility of extension for another 12 months depending on the continuation of funding.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
PhD degree in any Biological Science or closely related fields
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience in cellural - molecular neuroscience or molecular pathology and handling of experimantal models as well as in imaging techniques.
Background in gene therapy, peripheral nerve pathology, and neurophysiology.
