ΠΡΟΣΚΛΗΣΗ ΚΑΛΥΨΗΣ ΔΙΔΑΚΤΙΚΗΣ ΘΕΣΗΣ-ΠΑΝΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΙΟ ΒΟΣΠΟΡΟΥ

Το Ίδρυμα, στο πλαίσιο της επιχορήγησης Εδρών, Προγραμμάτων και Κέντρων Ελληνικών σπουδών σε Πανεπιστήμια του εξωτερικού και της 20ετούς συνεργασίας του με το Πανεπιστήμιο του Βοσπόρου στην Τουρκία, απευθύνει πρόσκληση για την κάλυψη διδακτικής θέσης για τις ανάγκες του τμήματος Ιστορίας του Πανεπιστημίου, για τη διδασκαλία της Νεώτερης Ελληνικής και Βαλκανικής Ιστορίας.

Οι ενδιαφερόμενοι θα πρέπει να καταθέσουν λεπτομερή ακαδημαϊκά διαπιστευτήρια έως την 1η Μαρτίου 2016 ενώ το πρόσωπο που θα επιλεγεί, θα ξεκινήσει τη διδασκαλία των μαθημάτων με την έναρξη του ακαδημαϊκού έτους 2016-2017.
ANNOUNCEMENT FOR A TEACHING POSITION IN THE FIELD OF
MODERN GREEK AND BALKAN HISTORY
FUNDED BY THE ONASSIS FOUNDATION AT BOGAZICI UNIVERSITY, TURKEY

The Department of History at Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, is pleased to announce that it will be recruiting for an academic position to be funded by the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation as of the beginning of the next academic year in September 2016, in the field of Modern Greek and Balkan History.

The holder of this position will be expected to teach a total of four courses, two each semester. The candidate is required to teach one undergraduate course and one graduate seminar per semester in the field of Modern Greek and Balkan History. The weekly load for any undergraduate course or graduate seminar is three hours. Courses are to be taught entirely in English, and course material, textbooks, and readings need also to be in English. Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating their capacity to teach courses on the Ortodox/non-Muslim populations of the Ottoman Empire.

The position is funded by the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation on the basis of a yearly total of 26,000 Euros net. Bogazici University will provide the holder of the position with free accommodation for the duration of his/her contract. Recruitment will be made on the basis of a contract subject to renewal at the end of the academic year. The expected duration of the contractee’s stay is two years, but can be prolonged for another two years if all parties agree.

Candidates with a Ph.D. in a relevant field and excellent command of English should send in their application to the Department of History before March 1st, 2016. The application file should include a detailed CV and list of publications, and three letters of recommendation from specialists in the candidate’s field. Candidates should also include a detailed syllabus and course description for the undergraduate course, as well as detailed information on the advanced courses or graduate seminars they wish to propose for consideration. They are also expected to include a sample of their written work.
