Corresponding Associates Programme
Corresponding Associateships are open to scientists or engineers wishing to work at CERN for up to six months while on leave of absence from their home institutes which must be located in one of CERN's Member States (except Germany, France, Italy or the United Kingdom). Les contrats d'attaches correspondants sont ouverts aux physiciens ou ingenieurs ayant le desir de travailler au CERN pour duree limitee (jusqu'a six mois) en detachement de leur institut d'origine qui se situe imperativement dans un des Pays Membres du CERN (sauf l'Allemagne, la France, l'Italie ou le Royaume-Uni).

Role Description
In order to fulfil its role as a European centre, and as a member of the world-wide community of scientific institutes, CERN offers the use of its research facilities to a certain number of Associates to participate in its programmes covering experimental and theoretical particle physics, as well as various related activities in applied physics, electronics, computing, and engineering. Corresponding Associateships are granted for a period of at most six months to scientists holding research or teaching posts to help them keep abreast of developments in particle physics and related fields.
 
Eligibility Conditions
Candidates must be employed by institutions located in one of the following Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Corresponding Associates should be 'on leave of absence’ from their home institute. They are expected to receive normal salary payments from their home institutes during their stay at CERN.

(*) Please note: In the "Specific Information" of the application form a link to forward to your THREE referees will be available (as well as in the email of acknowledgment receipt). This link will allow them to submit their letters of recommendation in support of your application. Letters should be in English or French and submitted by the deadline indicated. Applications which are incomplete (e.g. missing reference letters) as of the closing date for a given meeting will not be considered.
 
What We Offer
All applications for Corresponding Associateships are considered by the Associates and Fellows Committee which meets twice per year, usually in May and November. Successful applicants will be offered appointments which normally begin three to twelve months after the meeting
